(7 October 2018, Hong Kong) Convoy Financial Services Limited (“Convoy”) presented the “Convoy Totem Run” for the fifth consecutive year. The event was successfully held last Saturday (6 October) at Tai Mo Shan Rotary Park, Tsuen Wan. Ms. Carol Yip, Director of Social Welfare of HKSAR government, together with Mr. Patrick Lai, Assistant Director (Country and Marine Parks) of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation, Mr. Henry Shin, CEO of Convoy Financial Services Limited, Mr. Andes Leung, Co-founder and CEO of RunOurCity, Mr. Francis Ngai, Co-founder and Director of RunOurCity and Mr. Edwin Lau, Representative of The Green Earth, officiated at the Convoy Totem Run. Around 1,800 runners participated in the race this year. A new group “Piglet Tribe” was newly introduced this year to let children learn how to live peacefully with the nature and raise their awareness of environmental protection.
Mr. Henry Shin, CEO of Convoy Financial Services Limited, said, “We continue our strong support for the Totem Run this year, by sending over hundreds of colleagues and volunteers participate and help in the event. Facing the ups and downs in life, Convoy always rides out the storms together. Due to the impact of the typhoon, the routes of the race need to be changed in a short period of time to ensure the runners’ safety. It is definitely a challenge, but also a lesson teaching us to seek for changing oneself in adversities, maintaining the positive attitude of ‘Run to Transform’. We hope that more people will join us for a healthy lifestyle and lend others a helping hand. After all, life affects life.”
Convoy set donation booth at the start point and the finish point of the “42km Lion Tribe”, “16km Monkey Tribe” and “Piglet Tribe”, showing full support to the theme “Run for Charity” of the event. If participants uploaded photos taken at the booth to social media with the hashtag “#康宏圖騰跑2018” or “#ConvoyTotemRun2018”, Convoy would donate HKD$10 to Youth.ROC and Blind Sports Hong Kong, changing more lives with sports. A total of HKD$ 25,000 was raised at the day of the event.
Over hundreds of Convoy staff and volunteers actively participated and helped in the event, showing Convoy’s core value of “Passion”. Convoy Volunteer Team put their efforts to support the event by cheering for the runners and helping the charity photo-taking activity at the start point and the finish point.
