"Convoy x Zheng Sheng" team departs to Antarctica this Sunday to meet the Antarctic 100K race challenge
Establishes "Cloudonate" online donation platform and "1 Like.$5" campaign to raise donations for urgent improvement works to the campus environment and long-term development of Zheng Sheng College

 

(9 January 2015, Hong Kong)– Instigated by Convoy Financial Group ("Convoy"), the "Convoy x Zheng Sheng – Journey to Overcome the Extremes – Antarctic 100K Expedition" has entered its countdown phase. Mr. Quincy Wong, Chairman of Convoy Financial Group, three Associate Directors, Mr. Kason Fok, Mr. Andrew Lai and Mr. Steve Lo who all finished the North Pole Marathon last year and Chris Tang, a graduate of Zheng Sheng College, are fully trained after months of preparation. The ultrathoners are mentally and physical well prepared and are going to embark on their journey to Antarctic this Sunday (11 January). They are the first team of Hong Kong people to participate in the Antarctic 100k race to be held on 15 January.

 

"Convoy x Zheng Sheng" team targets to finish the race within 20 hours

Quincy Wong, Chairman of the Group, together with four members will depart to one of the southernmost cities on earth, Punta Arenas, on 11 January and arrive at the race venue on 14 January (South pole time) to prepare for The Antarctic 100K race on the next day. The team is expected to run the 25km long course for four times under -20°C or lower environment, targeted to complete the 100km race in 20 hours on the race day.

 

Launch "1 Like • $5" campaign

The Group hopes to arouse public concern and support to Zheng Sheng College, enlisting their support by raising funds for the urgent improvement works to the campus environment and long-term development of Zheng Sheng College through this campaign. In order to invite different sectors of the public to devote themselves in supporting Zheng Sheng College, Convoy has specially launched the "1 Like • $5" campaign on its webpage (website: https://www.facebook.com/convoyfinancial). From 11 January to 6 February, Convoy will donate HK$5 for every "like," sharing or message left on its Facebook page for the urgent improvement works to the campus environment and for the long-term development of Zheng Sheng College.

 

Establishes online donation platform with "Cloudonate" to raise funds for long-term development of Zheng Sheng College

At the same time, the Group has collaborated with Cloudonate to set up an online donation webpage (http://www.cloudonate.org) for the public to support Zheng Sheng College by donation. The webpage starts operating from today to 28 February where the Group hopes to raise around HK$500,000 to benefit the college.

"Convoy x Zheng Sheng – Journey to Overcome the Extremes – Antarctic 100KExpedition"has specially invited Danny Chan, the host of "Hiking • Walking" of nowTV, to join the world's southernmost marathon. Six episodes of TV programming include "Antarctic 100K Rehearsal" with four episodes of around five minutes each and "Frenzied Running Antarctic 100K" with two episodes of around 30 minutes each. The progammes are to be broadcast from 13 January to 25 February on nowHK and now101 channels to share the Antarctic expedition with Hong Kong community.

 

"Convoy x Zheng Sheng – Journey to Overcome the Extremes – Antarctic 100K Expedition" is one of the trilogy of "Convoy Supports Zheng Sheng" events. By completing challenging courses, the Group hopes that the Convoy team and Chris Tang, a Zheng Sheng graduate, can instil the value of perseverance to Zheng Sheng students and encourage them to develop positive life attitude to face their personal challenges ahead and chart a new course for a better life.
